One way system scrapped

“The Deputy Leader of Wakefield Council has pledged that the proposed one-way system for St John’s in the city centre will be scrapped and has instructed officers to find an alternative solution.”

It will be interesting to see what the new plans will be, the press release does say that local representatives will be involved in any new plans.

This website will remain, watching for further developments.

Thanks to everyone who campaigned and to the councillors who put our views forward

One Response to “One way system scrapped”

  1. Jane Becker says:

I am very pleased that our objections have been listened to. May I add my thanks to those who put in time and effort to publicise the scheme. Let us hope they will start with a park and ride scheme and that the schools play ball about the congestion. It has been fine in St Johns this week! Interestingly, terrible on Ings Road heading towards Doncaster Road. Plenty there to exercise the Highways folk!
A special thanks to Jools and Jo for setting up the website and for keeping it open to allow future developments to be posted.
