FOI request for traffic surveys

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

I have received the traffic survery information I requested under the FOI act.

It seems to me from my initial look that

  1. There appears to be no consideration of the cross streets ( St Johns N and Belgravia)
  2. The traffic volume that will be forced down a single lane (as per the planis more or less doubled
  3. Wentworth terrace looks like it will get a real pounding

The diagrams and a donwload can be found here

Coverage in the Wakefield express

What I find interesting is how the council say this is “not a done deal” (Coun Denise Jeffery, Wakefield Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for regeneration)

However the council have approved the scheme in a cabinet meeting, how is that not a done deal?
